Melanie Johnson trio first embarked on their musical voyage of discovery together as a cohesive Jazz Standards/Pop Trio in 2014, with Melanie and Bruce co-founding and performing previously as the Standard Time Trio from 1996 - 2011. Their origin goes back earlier to when the band members grew up listening to a variety of music genres that played an influential role in shaping their paths as musicians and ultimately led them together.

 

Veteran professional entertainers of cruise lines and corporate events, the Melanie Johnson trio, have collectively found their signature sound, and offer something different and unique in presenting and sharing popular jazz-standard dance, pop & country music from many decades, arranged in a trio format they are proud to call their own.

My musical partner upon the sea for more than 14 years. A most talented performer playing both piano and left-hand bass keys. He is also an arranger extraordinaire being able to transpose multi-instrumental compositions to the trio format, allowing us to sound full and elegant.

Austin Werner, Drums

Also an alumni of travelling the tides for more than 3 years. A versatile drummer having had the opportunity to be a member of several touring bands on land performing many styles of music. Be it rock, jazz, r&b, soul or pop for more than 3 decades.
